Exhibition Statement

Who Do I Cater to Now brings together two bodies of work developed over the past year, placing them in direct conversation with one another. While each body was created with contradicting intentions, their encounter reveals an ongoing dialogue, suggesting shared underlying themes and values that emerge both consciously and subconsciously. Rooted in contrasting material approaches, the exhibition presents a series of oil paintings alongside a body of charcoal drawings, inviting viewers to consider how differences in medium, process, and purpose can generate unexpected connection.

First Friday

A vibrant monthly open studio event held on the first Friday of every month at Spareroom Studios, dedicated to fostering community engagement and networking among local creatives. This dynamic event invites artists, art enthusiasts, and the general public to explore a variety of studios, experience live artist talks, and participate in workshops centered around different capabilities of the Risograph printmaking process. First Friday not only offers a platform for artists to showcase their work but also encourages collaboration and inspiration, making it a must-attend gathering for anyone passionate about the arts. Whether you're an emerging artist, seasoned creator, or simply curious about the local art scene, First Friday is the perfect opportunity to connect, learn, and support Barrie’s creative community.

"TWOGETHER" is a collaborative exhibition that features work by 9 artist duos. The artist pairings between established and emerging artists to create work all in support and awareness of mental health.
